Position: Motor Mechanic
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $72,000 plus superannuation per annum
Location: Northgate QLD 4013
Our client is seeking a full-time Motor Mechanic to join their workshop located in Northgate, Queensland.
Tasks required include:
• Motor mechanics repair, maintain and test motor vehicles and related mechanical components.
• Main tasks: Inspecting motor mechanical parts and engines to determine any issues
• When required, remove and take apart motor mechanical parts including but not limited to: transmissions, steering mechanisms and engine assemblies.
• With reference to vehicles service manuals, be able to replace or repair mechanical components which are either defective or worn out.
• Reassemble mechanical components with reference to appropriate service manual
• Complete thorough maintenance/logbook service. This includes but is not limited to, tuning engine, lubricating engine, changing oil, check vehicle is running appropriately, check compliance with pollution regulations.
• Reassemble parts that have been dismantled for repair
• Fitting repaired parts to ensure they are adjusted and provide proper performance.
• Use computers to ensure parts are performing appropriate and if not, being able to diagnose the issue
• Issue roadworthiness certificate and conduct regulated inspection
• Consult of vehicle to determine work that needs to be completed for roadworthiness
• Repair petrol engines and/or suspension, steering, brakes and transmissions of lightweight motor vehicle
• Test petrol engines and/or suspension, steering, brakes and transmissions of lightweight motor vehicle
• Provide maintenance on petrol engines and/or suspension, steering, brakes and transmissions of lightweight motor vehicles.
Requirements:
• Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV in a relevant mechanical field
• Diploma of Engineering-Technical would also be highly regarded
• Minimum of two (2) years’ prior experience in a relevant Motor Mechanic role
• Ability to work independently as a Motor Mechanic
• Valid and unrestricted Queensland drivers licence.
