The processing and receiving factories are in Fremantle and O’Connor, Western Australia. Bluwave also meets HACCP, FDA, and EU food processing standards in processing Australian seafood; the requirements of AQIS (Australian Quarantine Inspection Services) regulations. Bluwave has also been accredited with MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) certification for having proven to catch and process rock lobster ensuring a well-managed, sustainable, and ecologically sound fishery.
Bluwave Lobster is excited to announce an opportunity for a full time Production Manager & Inventory Controller. Working as part of a high functioning and effective processing team, the successful candidate will be a vital part of the company’s processing operation. You will be reporting directly to the operations manager and working closely with our sales and marketing team.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Working with Operations Management on Inventory counts, administrating and overseeing the accurate collection of stock data.
• Investigation and reconciliation of inventory variances, working in conjunction with the Operations Management to fully eliminate variances.
• Monitoring of production related KPI’s, identifying errors and performing root cause analysis.
• Monitoring of production related integration processes and reconciliation of errors.
• Liaise with Finance and provide data where required for operational analysis.
• Carry our daily review of GMP in the factory (operational areas) and externally, and to help regulate company policies and procedures regarding food safety and compliance.
• Conduct Internal Audits of the operational areas for foreign objects and maintain the Glass and Hard Plastics Register for all production, storage, and maintenance facilities as required.
• Assist with organoleptic assessments – carry out organoleptic product assessments and check retention samples on their best before date evaluate the quality and freshness.
• Review, amend and maintain packing specifications for the production areas.
• Inspect returned stock with quality issues, and report on findings.
• Help investigate customer feedback reports and internal corrective actions.
• Assist QA team with site audits and corrective actions.
Skills and Experience required:
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related field
• HACCP Training will be highly regarded.
• Strong focus on general safety standards and work methods.
• Results oriented approach, High attention to detail, self-motivated, focused, and reliable.
• High level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to engage with stakeholders.
• High level of computer literacy with advanced Microsoft Office suite knowledge.
• Basic knowledge of accounting software.
• Previous experience working in FMCG, and cold environment will be highly regarded.
• At least 7 years’ experience in lobster processing
