Protector Australia Pty Ltd is an Australian family-owned and operated stormwater treatment and fiberglassing company. We manufacture and supply products designed to capture and contain pollution in stormwater runoff for many applications. We are currently looking for qualified and experienced Fiberglass Technicians to join our team.
As a Fiberglass Technician at Protector Australia, your primary responsibilities will include:
* Filament Winding: Performing filament winding techniques to create fiberglass tanks, following established procedures and quality standards.
* Fiberglass Spray up and Rolling: Applying fiberglass spray and rolling techniques to coat and reinforce tanks, ensuring proper adhesion and uniform coverage.
* Mould Preparation: Preparing molds by cleaning, waxing, and applying release agents to ensure smooth and easy removal of the finished tanks.
* Mould Releasing: Releasing fiberglass tanks from molds using appropriate techniques, ensuring minimal damage or distortion to the final product.
* Trimming and Grinding: Trimming excess fiberglass, removing rough edges, and using grinding tools to achieve precise dimensions and smooth surfaces.
* Tank Assembly: Assembling various components of fiberglass tanks, including reinforcements, fittings, and accessories, following assembly instructions and quality standards.
* Hand Laminating: Applying fiberglass materials by hand, using brushes, rollers, or other tools to ensure proper saturation and consolidation of layers.
* Painting: Applying paint or gel coats to the fiberglass tanks, achieving desired finishes and ensuring proper adhesion and durability.
Qualifications and Requirements:
* At least 2 years of relevant experience as fiberglass technician (applicants with less experience will be considered and training can be provided)
* High attention to detail
* Ability to maintain and foster a working environment which prompts safety in all that you do
Salary range: $70,000 - $75,000 per year (commensurate to skills set and experience)
