Reporting to the Site Manager, your focus will be on ensuring the efficient and safe operations of the site and assisting the Site Manager with all the grain storage and handling processes and functions, including quality compliance. At Harvest, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision, direction and leadership of employees and contractors at site.
This is a hands-on role where you will be leading by example and training staff.
The Site Supervisor needs to be able to assume the responsibilities of Site Manager at various times during the year when the Site Manager is absent or on leave.
This a salaried position however additional hours worked are paid as well.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring all safety policies and procedures are followed.
- Assisting in staff recruitment and ensuring staff are suitably developed and trained and have completed the competency assessments.
- Assisting the Site Manager to plan and manage all grain storage and handling functions and systems within the site to minimise costs and maximise efficiency.
- Ensuring all stock storage principles and procedures are always applied.
- Classify grains and ensuring that the grains are stored and handled in accordance with standards and the Company’s policies and procedures.
- Assisting with the maintenance of assets and equipment
- Providing high levels of internal and external customer service
- Planning site activities to minimise costs and maximise efficiency.
- Ensuring all stock storage principles and procedures are always applied.
- Meeting quality standards in terms of grain classification, grain storage and quality control.
- Ensuring Audit compliance and documentation is completed and filed.
- Overseeing the site presentation to meet Emerald Grain Quality Management Standards – Weed control, grain hygiene, equipment hygiene, tarp management.
- Assisting in maintaining a supportive, inclusive, high-performance culture at the site.
- Ensuring grain stock accuracy in terms of quality and quantity are always maintained
