About the opportunity:
Discover the charm of the Fitzroy Region with Rural Funds Management! We are seeking multiple enthusiastic farm hands to join our expanding team, working on macadamia orchards and exciting projects across multiple properties. If you are self-motivated, safety-conscious, and love the outdoors, this opportunity offers a dynamic and rewarding experience.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Orchard Manager, you will be responsible for:
- All aspects of farm work
- Contributing to the development and installation of irrigation systems
- Operating and calibrating farming machinery
- Assisting with herbicide and pesticide application
- Contributing to a positive and productive working environment
- A positive, can-do attitude is essential
- You will be flexible, reliable, and available to work hours which may vary to meet operational demands (with potential for Saturday work)
- You will hold a C class drivers’ licence (essential)
- You will have previous experience driving a tractor (preferred)
- You will have previous experience working on a farm (preferred)
- You will hold a Chemical Users Certificate (preferred) or be willing to undertake the course at our cost to obtain this certificate
- You will have a Certificate II or III in Rural Studies, Horticulture or Agriculture (preferred but not essential)
- An above award hourly rate, based on your skills and experience
- Optional transport available to/from work on a company bus service from designated pick-up locations between Rockhampton and the farms (subject to availability of seats)
- Ongoing training and development opportunities, including traineeships
- Salary continuance insurance, life insurance, and annual discretionary bonus (subject to eligibility criteria)
