MX Aircraft Technologies are seeking an experienced Vehicle Painter (ANZSCO Code 324311 – Vehicle Painter) to work within our production team supplying custom built high performance carbon fibre experimental aerobatic sports aircraft.
MX Aircraft Technologies facility is based in Jandakot Perth, Western Australia (6164).
Position is full time (40 hours/week) onsite and you must hold the relevant technical skills within the vehicle painter industry preparing surfaces of vehicles, matching and mixing colours and applying paint to vehicles. The suitable candidate must have at least 3 years experience and demonstrate a commitment to exceptional quality, safety and high standards of work, to be considered for the role. The successful candidate must have the ability to self-manage and report to the production floor manager as required.
Essential skills and experience:
• Have 3 years experience in a similar technician role with technical skills in vehicle painting including:
o Removing rough spots on vehicle panels
o Sanding surfaces by hand and with power sanders
o Masking areas not to be painted with tape and paper
o Colour matching and mixing paints to match paint shades, and selecting pre-mixed paint
o Applying primer and finishing coats using spray-guns, and sanding surfaces between coats
o Touching up paintwork and applying polish to vehicles
o Removing masking papers, and waxing and polishing finished paintwork
o Painting signs and artwork on vehicles
o Treating vehicles with rust-proofing chemicals
• Follow design specifications, drawings and technical data
• An ability to demonstrate proactive high quality workmanship
• Effective time management to ensure punctual product component delivery.
• Comply with established safety standards and regulations with the industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Work well within a team environment.
• Hold a valid driver’s licence.
Salary range from AUD $ 62,400 to AUD $72,800 per annum (depending on qualifications, experience and professional skill set).
