STANTHORPE RSL SERVICES CLUB INC also known as Stanthorpe RSL is looking for a full time Chef for their busy venue.
Stanthorpe, located in Queensland, Australia, is a picturesque town renowned for its cool climate and thriving agricultural industry, particularly its vineyards and orchards. Situated in the Granite Belt region, Stanthorpe is celebrated for its wine production, producing a variety of cool-climate wines. The town is surrounded by stunning national parks, offering opportunities for nature enthusiasts to explore the scenic landscapes, granite formations, and waterfalls. With a charming main street, vibrant arts community, and regular events, Stanthorpe attracts both locals and tourists seeking a relaxing and enjoyable rural experience in Queensland's southern highlands.
To be considered for the role you need to have a relevant industry qualification or at least 3 years' experience in a similar position.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Must display excellent prep, cooking and plating skills
Strong emphasis on quality and consistency of dishes
Demonstrate a keen Interest in growing food trends and techniques
Ability to contribute to menu planning, food cost estimation and food cost control
Work with the management team on food preparation and seasonal menu planning
Stock ordering
Labour cost control and assist the owners with rostering
A sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and WHS and able to explain and enforce
Immaculate presentation and grooming
Ability to handle large service numbers
Above average customer care and service skills
Training of junior team members on cooking techniques and procedures
Assist with staff hiring and training
Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
Discuss customer requirements and request with the frost on house team
Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
