Full Time Auto Mechanic
SALARY $80,000 per annum plus superannuation



As an Auto Mechanic at Melbourne Service Centre, you will be responsible for performing vehicle Maintenance repairs. The automotive mechanic is responsible for the full range of automotive maintenance and repair needed to keep all vehicles and machinery in good running condition, including gas, diesel and electrical engines. Incumbents in this classification typically inspect automotive, to determine necessary corrective action; perform diagnostic tests using engine analysers; fabricate or modify equipment and various other metal structures.


Objectives
The Automotive Mechanic must professionally inspect, diagnose and repair tyre and automotive services, while delivering an excellent customer experience
• Operate all equipment in a safe manner
• Maintain stall in an orderly and clean manner
• Document all work performed during completion



Responsibilities
• The Mechanic is expected to continuously learn new technical information and techniques in order to stay updated with rapidly changing automotive technology and perform work in accordance with specifications. The Mechanic needs to be knowledgeable and experienced in working on all the following vehicles:
- Petrol
- Diesel
- Motorbikes



Duties
- Diagnose and repair to specifications brake and hydraulic, exhaust, basic electrical, cooling system, suspension and alignment, perform all maintenance services
- Disassembling and Re-assembling Body parts on vehicles to allow body repairs
- Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance
- Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers
- Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations
- Keep store management informed of mechanical repair problems as they occur
- Possesses fine motor skills to safely operate tools.



Job Requirements

• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen
• Perform schedule automotive maintenance services on vehicles
• Assist in receiving and stocking inventory
• At least two years Auto mechanic experience
• Relevant Diploma qualification in Automotive / Mechanic
• Must have a valid driver license in VIC
• Must be able to commute to work location
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
• Have experience in Petrol Vehicles, Diesel Vehicles and Motorbikes too.
