The Purpose:
Reporting to the GM Merchant Growth, the Head of Merchant Growth will oversee and direct the Business Development activity for AP+ including building Eco-system adoption of AP+ products and growing least cost routing:
- Growing transactions and revenues with key merchants over the medium to long term and enabling growth of Eco-systems.
- Development of Least Cost Routing strategy, targets and rhythms to drive growth.
- Manage and grow the strategic commercial relationships with AP+ merchants, in a planned and coordinated way, which supports their business objectives and achievement of AP+ business goals.
- Working with strategic Merchants, to understand their strategy, customer needs and for driving greater strategic alignment against these needs.
- Develop go-to-market strategies for winning new business.
- Packaging and selling the AP+ suite of products and developing compelling propositions or experiences to drive adoption of the products.
- Leader in driving the AP+ Commercial strategy to deliver transactions, new revenue and Eco-system growth.
- Leading and negotiating partnerships, distribution, funding or other deals that support the AP+ strategy.
In order for you to be successful in the role, you’ll have:
- Knowledge of payments and how they are used by financial institutions, retailers, and Australian businesses.
- Experience in building Eco-systems and winning new business at scale within a payments environment.
- Ability to package products and present compelling sales presentations to drive adoption.
- Experience developing and building commercial relationships.
- Experience leading business development teams working with complex ability to deliver.
- Proven experience in negotiating complex deals to drive win-win partnerships.
- Proven experience driving growth across a high functioning team responsible for Business Development, within the payments space.
- Proven experience managing & growing the strategic commercial relationships with AP+
- Robust experience negotiating, and constructing deals that meet both AP+ and key customer needs.
