About the Role
As the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of our transportation operations, with a particular focus on ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing transportation logistics, a deep understanding of COR requirements, and the ability to lead a team to achieve operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Stay up-to-date with the latest COR regulations and ensure the company's compliance with all relevant laws and standards.
Implement and maintain COR policies and procedures across all levels of the organization.
Conduct regular training sessions for staff to enhance awareness and understanding of COR responsibilities.
Oversee the planning and execution of transportation activities, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize routes, reduce fuel consumption, and minimize environmental impact.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet customer delivery requirements while maintaining compliance.
Team Leadership
Risk Management
Identify and assess potential risks in transportation operations and develop mitigation strategies.
The Successful Applicant will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
Thorough knowledge of Road Transport Industry related rules and regulations including Load Restraint, Axle Weights, Fatigue, Chain of Responsibility, NHVR, etc
Proven experience in divisional profit and cost control management
Front line supervisory / management experience.
