M10 Truss is Victoria's fastest-growing truss plant, specializing in top-quality timber trusses, wall frames, and floor systems. We're expanding further by introducing a new production line that includes a variety of sturdy steel products such as angles, beams, columns, sheets, plates, tubing, and pipes. Position Description

An opportunity is available for an experienced Welder / Boilermaker to join our Workshop in a permanent full-time capacity at our Pakenham facility for heavy structural steel fabrication for domestic and commercial builders. The successful candidate will enjoy secure employment with a respected organization that produces high-quality products working on new equipment.



Responsibility
The role includes (but not limited to):

Cut and marked out metals sections using metal cutting, bending machines and flame cutting and hand tools
Measure and algin parts to be welded/joined.
Joined metals by bolting and welding and other joining techniques.
Check welds beads, penetration and precision
Clean and smooth weld by filing, chiselling and griding.
Perform various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and ARC welding
Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and safely
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow all safety protocols and guidelines

The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

3+ Years of Manufacturing Expertise: A minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment demonstrates your proficiency and commitment.
Trade Certificates: Possessing appropriate trade certificates is a testament to your formal training and qualifications.
Experience fabricating Heavy Structural Steel AS 1554.1
Technical Drawing Proficiency: Your ability to interpret and work from technical drawings is crucial to your success in this role.
Welding Mastery: Proven expertise in GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, and SAW would be highly valued, showcasing your diverse welding skills.
Additional Qualifications: Possession of extra qualifications and licenses will be advantageous, enhancing your overall suitability for the position.
Safety Certifications: Holding certifications in Overhead Crane operation will be highly regarded
Australian qualifications as a Boilermaker or 1st Class Welder
Relevant certifications assessed to Australian Standards
Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude
