Disability Support Worker
Requirements: Certificate III in disability support
Working with children (OCHRE card)
CPR and First-Aid training
NDIS worker screening check
Police check Full driving License
Participant Profile (Male) The participant is 19 years old male who sustained with a T12 spinal cord injury secondary to acute chronic cord compression. He has ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and ADHD (Attentional deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). He has longstanding anxiety in relation to going to new places, meeting with new people, and trying new things. Experience with behavioral support and ASD and ADHD is preferred. A person needs to be a cheerful personality, and the additional skill of handling bowel care (administering Enema), training will be provided. Participants can easily get agitated and swear, cracking jokes toward staff. Team member need not get offended and needs to have patience. This is a family home with few family members and pets (dogs and cats). This participant needs leg stretching exercises and massage so that will involve in the job description. (Training will be provided).
