We are a successful funky and modern Café. We are currently seeking a Cook to join our team. This is going to be a full-time position (38 hours p/w).
You will be assisting our Chef in our kitchen setting and past experience complying to food presentation standards, recipes, portion control, stock security, food safety, production schedules and cleaning are all requirements for these roles. Some of the responsibilities listed below:
• Prepare all ingredients ready by washing and cutting, and cooking all levels of dishes.
• Season and cook food according to our recipes and/or personal judgement and experience.
• Inspect food preparation and serving areas to ensure observance of safe, sanitary food-handling practices.
• Verify that prepared food meets requirements for quality and quantity.
• Operate the cooking appliance such as stoves and ovens and maintain the good working conditions at all time.
• Control stocks by estimating food consumption then purchase supplies and procure food from storage.
• Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces and utensils.
• Coordinate and supervise work of kitchen staff.
To be considered for this position you must have:
• Have a passion for food.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a cafe.
• Qualified cook is favarouble
• Have knowledge of food safety and hygiene producers.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a very fast paced café/restaurant with a very high volume of covers.
• Ability to work as a team & responsible to work on your own
