Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in the industry

Position: Full-time

Salary: 70000+ Super

Position Overview: Responsible for providing high quality hairdressing services and customer satisfaction to clients while also maintaining commercial success of the business by building client base and creating retail sales.

KEY TASKS EXPECTED RESULTS/ Duties

?Analyse clients hair and other physical features to determine and recommend or suggest hair styles.
?Consult with client on Hair history including products used and treatments.
?Demonstrate and sell hair care products and cosmetics.
?Shampoo, rinse, condition and dry hair and scalp or hairpieces with water, liquid, soap, or other solutions.
?Cut, trim and shape hair based on customers instructions, hair type and facial features, using clippers, scissors, trimmers and razors.
?Apply water, setting, straightening or waving solutions to hair and use curlers, rollers, hot combs and curling irons to press and curl hair.
?Keep work stations clean and sanitise tools such as scissors and combs.
?Comb, brush, and spray hair to set style.
?Develop new styles and techniques.
?Use Hairdressing products and equipment in line with manufacturer’s directions.
?Operate cash registers to receive payments from Clients.
?Update and maintain customer information records, such as services provided.
?Advise Client to seek medical treatment for chronic or contagious scalp conditions.
?Massage and treat scalp for hygienic and remedial purposes, using hands, fingers,or vibrating equipment.
?Supervise and provide guidance to junior employees, trainees and apprentices.
?Use safe manual handling techniques, practice safe work habits following, Safety and Environment policies, wear protective clothing provided where necessary and take a consultative role in assisting and maintaining a clean, tidy work area and a healthy and safe working environment.
?Maintain procedures to minimise our impact on the environment and prevent pollution.
?Report any health or safety hazards, faults, repairs, cleaning needs and accidents and record on the appropriate Accident Report form immediately following accident.
?Ensure all equipment is kept in good working order and used only for the purpose for which it was intended. Report all broken or damaged departmental equipment to your Supervisor and record on appropriate maintenance report form.
?Contribute to cost control through energy conservation, correct storage of all materials and use of equipment per operating standards and manufacturers specifications.
?Be fully conversant with Salon fire and evacuation procedures.

Customer Service

?Provide efficient, friendly and professional service to all Clients.
?Lead by example when attending to Clients requests.
?Take initiative to ensure that interactions with our Clients and stakeholders (internal or external) are positive and productive.
?Work together with trust so that colleagues and management meet the goals of the Business.
?Treat Clients and colleagues from all cultural groups with respect, sensitivity and transparency.
?Take every opportunity to be a “salesperson” by active selling of special promotions and facilities available from the Business.

Other
?Take responsibility to ensure all required tasks are completed accurately and within given time frames.
?Participate in scheduled training and development programs provided by the Business.
?Abide by legislation on EEO and Harassment in the workplace.
?Ensure wherever possible that employees are provided with a work place free of discrimination, harassment and victimisation.
?Follow Business procedures with respect to grooming, performance and conduct standards, occupational health and safety, emergency procedures and all other Salon policies and procedures. These may be subject to change from time to time.
?Ensure Business and Clients information or transactions are kept confidential during
or after employment with the company.
?Any other reasonable request within your range of competence as required by your
Supervisor.
