About the Role Randstad is currently partnering with a well known Government Agency to fill several exciting APS 5/6 positions that will draw on administrative, secretariat, policy and stakeholder engagement skills. If you are interested and are looking for a new opportunity in Canberra for the New Year, this is for you! Daily Responsibilities Include:

developing and managing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including engaging relevant departmental policy areas and external bodies regarding current and potential reviews
undertaking research and analysis, to inform the MRAC and its working groups in their deliberations and development of recommendations to government
preparing a variety of documentation including complex papers, briefings, presentations and reports to support the MBS Continuous Review Executive, MRAC and departmental executives, and responses to requests for input and general inquiries
providing efficient and effective secretariat services, including: o meeting coordination o liaison with internal and external stakeholders o preparation of complex papers o attendance at MRAC and working group meetings o drafting of accurate minutes and coordination of action items
developing and contributing to parliamentary documents including: o ministerial correspondence o question time briefs o ministerial briefs and submissions o questions on notice
coordinating and supporting stakeholder engagement activities including public consultation of MRAC reports
providing leadership and guidance to junior colleagues, including offering assistance and constructive feedback on tasks

About You

demonstrated coordination and/or secretariat skills with a focus on attention to detail
experience working on policy issues, and preparing evidence-based advice
strong writing skills that demonstrate an ability to be clear, concise, and compelling
effective communication skills and the ability to build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders
ability to use sound judgement and make decisions within defined parameters and seek guidance when required
resilience to changing circumstances and ability to manage competing demands
analytical skills with the ability to identify policy linkages and outputs.
