About your opportunity:

The role of the Staff Specialist is to:
Provide optimal patient care as a Surgeon and comprehensive Orthopaedics services across a wide range of pathologies and patient age within the Department of Orthopaedics at the Townsville University Hospital.
Manage the delivery of patient care in the area of Orthopaedic Surgery including management of complex clinical situations.
Provide high quality clinical and non-clinical services to benefit the patients / clients of the THHS. This includes research as well as teaching the health professionals of the future.
Generous pro rata remuneration package (based on full-time equivalent value) up to $522,648 p.a. comprising:
Salary range between $97.84 and $124.05 p.h. (L18-L27). Level of appointment is dependent upon experience and advanced qualifications.
4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
attraction and retention incentive allowance
regional and rural attraction allowance
motor vehicle allowance
professional development assistance (allowances and leave)
Other employment benefits may include: salary sacrificing options, shift and locality allowances, employee wellness and assistance programs, and access to corporate discounts.
Requirements:
FRACS
Proof of qualification and Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA).
This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
6 months' probation period may apply.
