We have multiple opportunities for qualified kitchen staff to join our team of cooks/chefs. You will be working in all sections of the kitchen; from our traditional a la carte restaurant through to catering large functions driven by the Convention Centre. Variety is everyday!
Your duties will include preparing, cleaning and running sections during service times and work throughout a 7 day rotating roster covering 76 hours per fortnight as a full time position.
Cook, including Pastry Cook - Cooking of breakfasts and short order food items; baking, pastry cooking of buns, cakes and biscuits or butchering
Commis Chef - Completed apprenticeship or passed the appropriate trade test for cooking, baking, pastry cooking and butchering
Demi Chef - Completed apprenticeship or passed the appropriate trade test for specialised cooking, baking, pastry cooking or butchery; supervising and training lower grade kitchen staff
Chef de Partie - Completed apprenticeship or passed the appropriate trade test for general and specialised duties including supervision and training of lower grade kitchen staff; ordering and stock control
Sous Chef - Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, ordering food supplies, monitoring quality, liaising with Managers and other staff, preparing and cooking, select and train staff, explain and enforce hygiene regulations.
These are full time roles with an OTE equivalent salary range between $63,000 to $75,000 gross per annum, excluding superannuation.
Minimum Certificate IV relevant qualification with at least two years experience.
