POULTRY TECHNICIAN
Location: Bullsbrook, WA 6084
Tenure: Full-time, Permanent
Comprehensive salary package from $70,000 pa (plus superannuation)
Required Skills and Experience:
• Diploma in Agriculture or higher equivalent
• At least 3 years recent relevant work experience
Position Summary:
On behalf of our client, Global Skilled Employment Services is looking for a skilled and experienced Poultry Technician who have strong communication and time management skills, self-motivated and must have the ability to work independently and as a member of a production team.
This is a full-time position which may involve weekend work and some unplanned hours of work where the need arises.
Main duties:
• Provide technical knowledge advise for raises poultry to produce eggs and meat
• Selects and purchases poultry stock
• Advise and administer feeds and waters supply
• Advise and manage the proper disinfection process for poultry houses, cages, and nests
• Advise and manage vaccination program for the poultry flock
• Inspects and disposes of or segregates infected poultry
• Collects, inspects, and packs eggs and selects and crates pullets and fryers for shipment
• Maintains growth, feed, and production records
• Advise and manage the breeding fertility of the main flock, advise and manage incubation process of the fertile eggs.
Other skills:
• Good written and verbal communication skills;
• Advance knowledge in animal husbandry, animal welfare and legislation, poultry production, and OH&S;
• Knowledge in computer programs/software is an advantage.
