Total Indicative Remuneration - Classification - MD2 - Consultant / Senior Consultant - $357,576 - $606,616 (Subject to Private Practice Arrangements)

Overview The Womens & Childrens Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia. We are the states leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being South Australias largest maternity and obstetric service, and statewide Maternal Fetal Medicine service. Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services. The Department of Paediatric Cardiology provides cardiology services for children with heart disease in South Australia, the Northern Territory and the far western regions of Victoria and NSW. Services provided include clinical consultation, transthoracic, transoesophageal and fetal echocardiography, 12 lead electrocardiography, ambulatory and event ECG monitoring, exercise stress testing, pacing, diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterisation, and Cardiac MRI. The Opportunity An exciting opportunity exists within The Department of Cardiology , to join our passionate team as a Consultant/Senior Consultant (MD2) on an ongoing , full-time basis from 15 April 2024 . In this role, you will:
Be responsible for the management of high-quality inpatient and outpatient Cardiology services
Contribute to education and research within the Unit and will encourage and support teamwork amongst staff for optimal clinical service outcomes
Develop partnerships both internal and external to support quality patient needs and outcomes
Actively participate in clinical review programmes to monitor standards of practice and ensure the maintenance of quality outcomes

Obtained a Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent
Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award
Previous significant clinical experience in paediatric cardiology
Experience in non-invasive imaging, particularly fetal echocardiography
Skills in clinical problem solving and decision making
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
The ability to work with individuals and families for positive health outcomes
