The Opportunity:

Our Corporate Transactions team in Sydney is looking for a Senior Associate to join our global practice.

We are commercial and outcome-focussed as evidenced by our team's track record in getting deals done. Advising on the full range of commercial and corporate advisory work, we are the preferred legal advisers to local and international corporates, leading investment banks, funds and financial sponsors and government, who return to us time-and-again. Our work spans acquisitions, divestments, private equity, joint ventures, restructures and capital raisings as well as day-to-day corporate head office advice including commercial agreements and governance arrangements. This is buoyed by specialist knowledge across highly regulated industries including insurance, financial services, health and energy and resources and infrastructure.

The work you will have access to is for a client base that spans mid-cap entities through to blue chips, and includes mainstream corporate transactions such as takeovers, business and asset acquisitions and disposals, equity capital markets work, restructuring and recapitalisation transactions, joint venture arrangements, ASX listing rule work and corporate governance.

Desired Skills and Experience:

To succeed in this role you will need:

- 8-12 years' corporate transactional experience gained within a truly top-tier firm with regulated M&A skills being particularly highly regarded
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Superior drafting ability
- A commercial approach and an ability to negotiate effectively
- Strong attention to detail with well-developed analytical skills
- The ability to be team-focused and also work independently
- A proactive, positive and energetic approach with a commitment to providing excellent service, and a desire to interact with the market and build client relationships
