This role will assist the Front Office Management team in supervising a team of up to 60 colleagues, whilst providing enchanting service to our guests

The Langham Hotel Melbourne is currently looking for a full-time Front Office Duty Manager to join our team.

You will have the opportunity to work with the Front Office Team which consists of approximately 60 colleagues. This is an exciting opportunity for you to grow your hotel skill set in order to build a career with-in The Langham, shall you be determined and dedicated.

This position is an integral part of a high performing hotel team, and a key contributor to the hotel’s ongoing success.

You will assist the Front Office Management team in supervising a team of up to 60, or on any one shift you will oversee approximately 20 colleagues. Reporting to the Front Office Manager and Assistant Front Office Manager, you will have direct accountability for this department whilst on shift. You will have a proven track record in communicating and effectively managing staff of all levels.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing any staff issues that may arise
• Co-ordinating the room allocations for all guests arriving each shift
• Conducting staff briefings
• Setting an excellent example as a senior member of the team
• Problem solving any guest issues that arise
• Being an active part of the Emergency Response Team

For this role, your attributes will be inclusive of the following:
• Previous experience in a similar role, ideally in a luxury hotel or similar environment
• Have superior communication and interpersonal skills
• Detailed knowledge of our hotel computer systems – Opera PMS
• Deliver the ‘total guest experience’
• Well presented, friendly with a professional attitude
• Able to work well under pressure
• Current RSA & First Aid Certificate
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and motivate staff
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, flexibility, and a commitment to the highest level of guest service
• Flexibility with various shifts
