We are looking for an Industrial Officer/Lawyer to join an established business located in South Melbourne . You will have training and experience in industrial relations , employment law and provide legal advice to the industrial team. This role has a hybrid working arrangement, with flexible working hours. Working under the Divisional Secretary, you will be mentored with room to grow your career. You will:
Provide industrial and legal advice and support.
Undertake general industrial advocacy.
Appear on behalf of our client at the Fair Work Commission and in other court proceedings.
Liaise with employer representatives and external lawyers where necessary.
Participate in, and provide assistance with enterprise agreement bargaining, and the negotiation and drafting of individual and collective agreements.
Provide workplace specific education in relation to legal matters.
Provide support and advice on internal governance requirements.
You will have:
Have knowledge of and be competent in the application of the Federal legislative environment.
A sound knowledge and understanding of industrial relations legislation - a must!
Well-developed research, analytical, problem-solving skills and a capacity to contribute to strategic planning.
Ability to prepare and articulate a position formally at a tribunal, court, mediation or meeting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders.
Self-directed, highly motivated, reliable and a team player.
A university level qualification in law.
