Social Worker

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community-based facilities.


This role involves the provision of Social Work service, supervision and education of student and junior Social Workers and will be a member of our supportive team. The Social Work team consists of over 40 staff members who work across the City and Royal Park Campuses in acute, sub-acute and community based services across a range of specialties.


Your new role:
• Provide clinical excellence and Social Work service across the acute wards with flexibility to work across other areas as needed.
• Complete psychosocial assessments and provide emotional support and counselling to patients and their families and/or carers
• You will be supported by Social Work team leaders (grade 3) and clinical lead (grade 4) as well as the ward based multi-disciplinary team
• Be part of and contribute to a dynamic and progressive Social Work team.
• Foster positive team and workplace culture as a Grade 2 clinician.

About You:
• You are a qualified Social Worker (either current member or current eligibility for AASW) with at least 4 years work experience as a Social Worker
• You deliver excellent person-focused clinical care to patients and their carers.
• You demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• You have the experience and skills to mentor and supervise junior staff
