Your new role In the role of Junior Legal Counsel in Inquests and Inquiries, you'll play a key role in our Legal Services department. Your responsibilities will include:
Handling complex and sensitive legal matters, especially in coronial inquests, civil litigation, and public law.
Providing accurate and authoritative legal advice on a range of issues to senior management.
Overseeing external legal representation in inquests and litigation.
Assisting in strategic decisions and preparing high-level briefs for leadership.
Identifying and mitigating legal risks through proactive strategies.
What you'll need to succeed To excel in this role, you require:
An unrestricted Australian practicing certificate under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (Victoria).
At least 3 years of post-admission experience in legal practice (desirable).
Experience in providing clear advice on complex legal issues.
Strong team collaboration skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
