Finance Officer/Accountant

MMT Care Pty Ltd is a registered NDIS provider that offers care and support services to residents in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. Our head office in Preston VIC is seeking a full-time Finance Officer/Accountant.

The salary offered is $75,000 - $85,000 per annum plus superannuation.

The Finance Officer/Accountant will:
• Assist with the preparation of the annual budget and budget reviews.
• Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements.
• Provide and analyse financial and non-financial information to assist management to monitor performance.
• Manage and develop finance unit procedures relevant to the position.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly reports and undertake follow-up activities for various departmental budgets, cashflow, audits and reports.
• Provide inputs for management accounting and tax strategies to management.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger to ensure that it accurately reflects the financial performance and financial position.
• Identify errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports, and undertaking reviewing, investigating, and correcting actions.
• Examine operating costs, income and expenditure; and prepare financial reports.
• Generate financial reports that display the company's profits, equity and cash flow.
• Complete relevant tax returns including FBT, GST, PAYG and Taxable Payments reports.
• Provide inputs for statutory reporting for BAS, Annual reports, ASIC and ATO reporting.
• Provide assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements.
• Assist managers with the completion of grant acquittals and statistical returns.
• Liaise with relevant care officers to ensure assets register and depreciation values are accurately maintained.
• Assist with asset depreciation process.
• Maintain computer-based accounting systems.
• Ensure internal controls are adhered to including the review of payroll transactions.

The applicant must have the following skills:
• A relevant Bachelors/Masters Qualification.
• Minimum 3-5 years of related experience in accounting field.
• At least one year of experience in NDIS related care providing business.
