MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Preparing, cooking, and presenting a range of meals
• General and specialized cooking duties
• Supervising and training other kitchen employees
• Create, prepare, and modify recipes.
• Hold kitchen staff meetings.
• Responsible for safe, clean, and smooth-running kitchen operations
• Ensure each dish is prepared correctly and efficiently.
• Plan new menu items and provide estimated costs to restaurant managers.
• Monitor and order required ingredients and equipment.
• Ensure the kitchen is neat and tidy at all times and all hygiene practices are met.
• Follow all Workplace Health and Safety procedures and Food Safety regulations.
• Reporting and meeting with restaurant managers in relation to kitchen operations
• Researching and experimenting with recipes
• Regular Record keeping of stock flow.
• Ensure all ingredients for the day are up to standard.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Qualifications: Must have related qualifications in Cookery
Experience: At least 2 years experience as a chef
Skills: Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced commercial kitchen
Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations
Ability to work in a team environment.
Good communication and presentation skills
Salary: $70,000
