One of our clients, LeadPro Group Pty Ltd (T/A Spargo’s Cafe + Bar) is looking for an experienced Chef. Since 1997, Spargo’s Cafe and Bar have been an integral part of the Westfield Marion Entertainment Complex, maintaining their enduring passion for food and coffee, though enthusiasm for indulging in delightful meals has noticeably increased over the years. Their commitment extends to supporting the local community and the state. Their coffee, skillfully roasted by Brasilla Coffee, and the fresh produce sourced from Franco’s Fruit & Veg, a local supplier, reflect their dedication to South Australian businesses. Even the wines are exclusively from South Australia! While Spargo’s Cafe and Bar emphasize healthy eating, including a range of Gluten-Free, Raw Vegan, and Refined Sugar-Free Cakes, crafted by their talented local pastry chefs, they haven't neglected the sweet tooth. The details for the position are:
Position: Chef
Salary Range: $70k plus superannuation
Location: Shop 2051, Level 2, Westfield Marion, Oaklands Park SA 5046
Job Type: Permanent position, Full time. Must be available to work on weekends and public holidays.
Primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
1. Preparation of all the dishes listed on the menu.
2. Create new recipes and assist in defining the menu items.
3. Stay on trend with what customers want and deliver dishes as per their taste requirements.
4. Following cooking instructions and recipes for all signature dishes and maintaining high standards of food prepared.
5. Preparation and set up of all the ingredients/ materials that will be required in the cooking of food items.
6. Supervise the kitchen staff for maintaining the operation standards.
7. Provide training to kitchen staff as and when required.
8. Managing and rostering all kitchen staff.
9. Effective management of the kitchen passes along the docket system.
10. Maintaining a sanitized and an organized workstation, along with a high level of hygiene and cleanliness in the entire kitchen.
To be considered for this role, your key skills, attributes must include:
1. Relevant qualifications with at least 2 years professional working experience as a Chef.
2. Qualification must be Certificate IV or above
3. Ability to focus in a pressured environment and manage the team effectively.
4. Full working rights within Australia are mandatory.
