Salary: $71,500 plus 11% superannuation

Our client, ENI Industries Pty Ltd. is a leading fabrication company and fabricates high-precision metal products, primarily for the construction, transport, mining & defence industries. Client provides design consultation, metal fabrication, assembly and maintenance services to customers spanning many industries nationwide.

The client is looking for full time, permanent technically competent Engineering Technologists to join its team and contribute towards the growing success of the company. The focus of the role is to analyse technical tasks, deal with technical inquiries from customers, and provide solution as required.

The role will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of a technological product or operation are soundly based in theory and fundamental principle and interpreting technological possibilities, to investigate interfaces, limitations, consequences, costs, and risks.

You must possess ability to apply knowledge of physics and mathematics to solve complex problems and designing blueprints and plans for ongoing and future engineering projects.

This job is an immediate start. The successful candidate must work well independently and, in a team, be reliable and take responsibility and pride in their work.

Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree with minimum three years’ relevant experience

What you will be responsible for:

• To facilitate efficiencies of manufacturing facility by application of world class engineering design practices
• Design, plan and coordinate production of customer orders where the customer has not provided appropriate drawings for manufacture and to ensure that they are available for delivery in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Investigate and evaluate current work processes to identify area of improvements and implement changes to achieve better products and reduce costs
• Analyse existing technology
• Prepare drawings of new technologies by coordinating with the product managers
• Run technology through testing procedures and notes findings to find the best suited solution for the customers
• Perform research on product technologies and structures to implement into design concepts
• Prepare appropriate manufacturing drawings consistent with customer requirements and support the factory production processes to ensure that the product meets customer specifications.
• Where the customer has supplied representative samples only, prepare drawings from samples and ensure that requirements are met through prototype testing and verification.
• Ensure procedures are aligned with engineering principles and safety regulations
• Interact effectively with other professionals, tradespersons, clients and stakeholders, to ensure that technology outcomes and developments fully integrate with the overall system and context
• Liaise with internal and external staff including other associated companies, customers with relevant information within the required time frame and in accordance with company policy
• Raise technical quotes and tenders for sales team when needed
• Prepare prototypes for testing and verification purposes before full scale production of the item commences
• Design the aesthetics, materials and functionality of components
• Use CAD, CAN and CAM systems to design and visualise projects

Skills, experience and attributes:
• A bachelor degree or higher in the relevant field (Engineering or Technology)
• At least 3 years' relevant work experience
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
• Time management and resource planning & management in line with company objectives
• Demonstrable literacy to develop design, interpret drawing and support manufacturing department to production
• Experience in 2D/3D Computer Aided Design work
• A methodical approach to work with good time technical and management skills
