Naji's Gourmet Food Pty Ltd is looking for a full-time chef working full time. The annual wage will be $70,000 plus 11% superannuation.
As the Chef, you will be responsible and required to plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food in our dining establishment on a full-time basis.
This is a hand-on position. To be successful in this role you will:
• Be experienced in a kitchen environment and in a chef role
• Plan menus and estimates food and labour costs
• Implement staff rosters and supervises the activities of cooks and assistants
• Discuss food preparation issues with managers, dietitians and other staff members
• Requisition food, kitchen supplies and equipment
• Demonstrate techniques to cooks and advises them on cooking procedures
• Prepare and cook food
• Portion food, adds gravies, sauces and garnishes
• Explain and enforces hygiene regulations
• Select and train staff
• Freeze, monitor and preserve foods
• Implement food hygiene and safety practices in the work place
Requirements:
• Hold at least an AQF Diploma or higher qualification with 2 years’ experience or at least 3 years relevant experience will be mandatory
• Have great attention to detail
• Can work with a team or unsupervised
• Clean, neat and well presented
• Have a positive attitude
• Be punctual and reliable
• Have a creative mindset in assisting with menu planning
