The Opportunity
AFMH is currently seeking an experienced Farm Hand to be part of our farm team within our progressive business at Coomboona Farms in Coomboona, Northern Victoria.
Joining the Farm team, the Farm Hand will be involved in the production of quality crops for silage and forage to feed our cows. The position will offer secure, full-time employment and will suit an individual who is career minded within the cropping industry. The Farm Hand will be encouraged to complete HR/HC licencing, ChemCert accreditation and additional required training.

AFMH operates multiple sites across eastern Australia. Dairy operations are located at Moxey Farms in Gooloogong, NSW, as well as Coomboona Farms in Coomboona, VIC. In addition, AFMH operates Ladysmith Farms a young stock operation near Wagga Wagga, NSW.
Key accountabilities include:
• Operating state of the art machinery and equipment with the latest technology
• Involved in cropping duties including field preparation, planting, fertilising, spraying, silage and harvesting
• Assisting with farm irrigation and data management
• Actively be involved in general farming duties which will include general labouring and maintenance
• Completing all activities in a safe and efficient manner
• Working as part of a team
• Assisting with training and developing of new and less experienced farm hands in cropping duties
The successful applicant will possess:
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in broadacre cropping, silage and harvesting
• Experienced tractor operator with knowledge of GPS systems, spreaders, strip tilling and precision planning
• Confident operating cropping and farm machinery including silage wagons, headers, loaders, bobcats and spray rigs
• Knowledge of cropping and irrigation technology
• Experience in general farm maintenance and fencing
• A genuine interest in farming and cropping operations
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude
• White Card and First Aid Certificate desirable
• Driver’s licence and own transport
• HC/HR Truck licence (or willing to obtain during employment)
