About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and driven Procurement & Planning Manager to oversee and optimise our food sourcing and supply chain operations as a reputable food importer. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of high-quality food products while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. As a Procurement & Planning Manager, you will be responsible for strategic planning, supplier management, negotiation, and continuous improvement of our procurement processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting thorough market research to source high-quality food products from domestic and international markets.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering open communication and collaborative partnerships.
- Negotiate favourable terms, prices, and agreements with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and optimal quality.
- Streamline procurement processes to enhance efficiency and reduce lead times; identify opportunities for cost savings and value-added improvements.
- Create purchase plans for each category and execute in line with organisational targets, whilst maintaining adequate inventory levels.
- Monitor and manage compliance with relevant regulations, certifications, and documentation for food importation.
- Collaborate closely with other departments (including logistics, sales and finance) to align procurement activities with overall business objectives.

- Bachelor's degree in Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven track record of minimum 5 years in a similar role, preferably in the food industry.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
