Stone Lodge Equine Services (Vinery Stud (Australia) Pty Ltd) located in Scone, NSW is currently accepting applicants for the full-time role of Veterinarian.

The successful applicants must be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of industry best practice, with either international experience or a thorough understanding of the global trends of the thoroughbred industry

Veterinarian – Duties will include:
• Performing all veterinary care during the breeding season including all reproductive veterinary care, foaling’s, sick foals, routine mare scanning, weanling care etc
• Undertake any necessary treatments and dressing wounds as well as surgery where required
• Examine horses and undertake ultrasounds, laboratory tests and X-ray examinations, medical hospitalisation and in-patient care
• Drug administration, procurement and stock control
• Inject and or inoculate horses as required
• Elective and emergency field surgery
• Reproductive specialist facilitating Thoroughbred breeding incl. fertility assessment, statistics & reporting
• Radiography and endoscopy of all horses including sales and racing stock
• Advise vet nurses or stud staff on treatments required as well as hygiene, feeding, breeding and care of horses

The salary will be above award – in the range of $90,000 to $97,000 per annum depending upon the skill set and level of responsibility.

Accommodation maybe offered on the farm.

Essential Criteria - Veterinarian
• Veterinary Degree
• Registration with NSW Veterinary Board
• A minimum of at least two years’ relevant experience
• Knowledge and experience specific to thoroughbred breeding and reproduction
• Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
• Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to breeding horses
