Southside well-known cafe is looking for an experienced chef who will have opportunities to showcase your culinary skills, design innovative dishes, and contribute to the success of our food service operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensuring food quality, taste, and presentation meet our high standards.
Managing kitchen operations, including stock control, ordering, and monitoring food costs.
Collaborating with the kitchen team to develop creative menus in seasons, create new dishes and daily specials, and design limited seasonal menus.
Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times; Complying with all safety protocols and guidelines; Maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures. Supervising the food preparation, overseeing and supervising all kitchen staff, delegating tasks to kitchen staff
May select and train staff, ensuring catering staff are working safely at all times.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
• A genuine passion for food and a strong desire to continuously refine your culinary skills.
• A relevant commercial cookery qualification is required.
• At least 2 years of proven experience as a chef within a high-volume kitchen is valuable.
• Familiarity with food safety and hygiene procedures.
• A team-oriented mindset and practical collaboration skills.
• Exceptional organisational and time-management abilities.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
