About the role
Keep track of all payments and expenditures, including payroll, bills, invoices, super etc;
Reconcile bank account transactions to appropriate chart of accounts, with evidence as necessary;
Pay employees by verifying expense reports and preparing pay checks;
Pay vendors by scheduling pay checks and ensuring payment is received for outstanding credit;
Invoice clients for work completed;
Prepare analyses of accounts and financial information by researching and analysing accounting data. Use this financial information to provide monthly reports to management;
Recommend financial actions by analysing accounting options;
Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents;
Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedure;
Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analysing accounting information;
Prepare tax statements, financial statements and BAS statements at required intervals;
Continue to improve the payment process, through implementation of things such as systemised accounting and reporting processes;
Setup of new employees, customers & sub-contractors in Xero, whilst assisting in the onboarding of new staff.
About you:
Minimum 2-3 years of accounting experience
Previous experience with Xero or similar system
Advanced Excel skills
Be driven, motivated and have a willingness to implement improvements where there are gaps.
We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible on a contract or permanent basis.
