Bo Gurks are currently looking for a Head Chef to join their dynamic team in Edithvale, VIC.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have at least 3 years' experience as a Chef / Head Chef working in a busy environment. It is essential you have experience in traditional and modern Italian cuisine, sauces and desserts.
Other essential skills and attributes:
- Culinary arts education or equivalent professional experience
- Ability to motivate and lead a team of kitchen staff
- Knowledge of kitchen operations and kitchen management systems
- Understanding of food safety regulations and standards
- Creative culinary skills and ability to innovate with new ingredients and techniques
- Knowledge of current culinary trends and ability to incorporate them into menu offerings
- Clean and well presented
- Good customer service skills
- Able to work under pressure and has attention to detail
Knowledge of a range of cuisines (Italian, Malaysian, Modern Australian) is preferred.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing all kitchen responsibilities
- Food ordering
- Stock rotation and food wastage tracking
- Staff hiring and training
- Kitchen staff rostering
- All safe food handling processes
- Menu design
- Monitoring pricing and stock to ensure that we negotiate the best deal with our suppliers
This is a full time position working 45 hours per week (we are closed on Monday).
A remuneration package between $75,000 - $85,000 will be offered to the successful candidate.
