Homebush Mechanical & Auto Electrical in Lidcombe New South Wales need to hire a Motor Mechanic.
Key Responsibilities of the Position
• Perform mechanical service and repair work on each customer’s vehicle, in accordance within manufacturer/company guidelines, procedures, quality/customer experience standards and productivity/efficiency/benchmarks.
• Upon receipt of customer’s service schedule, liaise with parts department to obtain parts
• Clock on and off to each repair order/job line via the Titan system.
• Conduct a daily hoist safety check within your allocated work bay, as per the quality checklist provided. Report any hazards immediately to your manager for rectification.
• Ensure all workshop repair materials used (eg: oils) are charged on the repair order, with nil/minimal wastage.
• Ensure a clear and detailed explanation of all work done is written on the repair order.
• If its a warranty job, tag all warranty parts and put them into the allocated container.
• Escalate complex mechanical matters to the Technical Advisor
• Communicate any additional mechanical work required to the Workshop Controller, for customer authorisation.
• Where additional parts are required , arrange quote and communicate to customer .
• Notify Workshop Controller if a job will be delayed, so customer can be advised
• Maintain cleanliness of each vehicle to the standard in which it was received.
• Keep equipment and specialised tools clean/in good working order and in the correct workshop location, along with report any damage.
• Stay up to date via the technical bulletins relevant to jobs and new products
• Attend all technical training, as approved by your manager.
• Properly dispose of all displaced parts and hazardous wastes
• Train Apprentice Service Technicians, as required.
• Perform ad-hoc mechanical/workshop tasks and general duties, required by manager



• Skills and Experience Required
• A valid drivers licence – including manual transmissions
• Certificate III in Vehicle Mechanic Technology is essential.
• At least 3 years experience in a similar role
• Customer centric demeanour akin to quality outcomes and exceptional service.
• Exceptional attention to detail/accuracy, time management, problem solving skills.
• A team player with behavioural attributes that align with a company values – respect, being on show, professionalism, efficiency and continuous improvement.
• The ability to place workplace health and safety as a consistent workplace priority.
Salary
The salary will be $70,000 per annum.
The job will be permanent full time.
The Employer will be Timothy Lhuede Pty Ltd.
