The Opportunity:
You will be based in the Melbourne Civil Team as a Civil Engineer working closely with delivering a variety of innovative and technically challenging projects locally and across the country. The team works with a variety of private and government clients to deliver infrastructure projects from smaller scale urban developments to multimillion dollar transport infrastructure upgrades.
The role will focus on high quality, technically innovative and accurate delivery of civil projects with an emphasis on providing financially and environmentally sustainable projects across Australia.
• Be involved in the major highway/road design projects.
• Undertaking design on Open Roads modelling software for the road projects
• Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with WH&S policies and procedures
• Managing interface of road geometric design with other design disciplines like drainage, pavement etc.
• Carrying out drafting on MicroStation software when required.
• Studying and producing engineering drawings and specifications to prepare cost estimates, detailed cost plans and estimates to assist in budgetary control
• Analysing costs associated with design options and overseeing changes to designs.
• Assisting team and project managers by developing good working relationships with clients during projects
• Undertaking internal training and work towards accreditation relevant to profession
What you bring:
• Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering
• 3-5 years of experience in Road design and Project Management.
• Road design experience on Open Roads and MicroStation software is essential for the role.
• Additional experience in Construction industry, Contact Administration, Civil infrastructure design (Water, Sewer, car park, subdivision development) and Local Government will add benefit.
• Experience in technical design management and report writing
• Experience in dealing with Australian road design guidelines
• Enthusiasm and commitment to achieving successful project outcomes
• Strong computer literacy is essential
• Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn
• Excellent communication skills, being reliable, working hard, using initiative, adaptable to change and ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
• Can work well within a team and the capability to work autonomously.
