The role is to support clients to live their lives more independently and support them to reach their potential by providing both physical and emotional support.
Key Responsibilities:
To provide:
• Social support (companionship, help around the house, etc.)
• Domestic support (laundry, gardening, etc.)
• Personal care (showering, toileting, manual transfer, etc.)
• 24hour care (including overnight)
Key Duties:
On a day-to-day basis, duties are to provide assistance with day-to-day essential tasks, such as:
• Personal care including bathing, toileting, dressing, preparing meals, medication assistance,
• Domestic Assistance such as cleaning, laundry, gardening, shopping, and other household chores,
• Social and Recreational Support
• Social and Community Access
Assisting client to participate in social or recreational activities such as
accessing community facilities, supporting someone to meet their friends, visiting the doctors and therapists, providing general emotional support.
helping clients enjoy their hobbies and interests or encouraging them to learn a new skill such as cooking or painting.
• Assistance with medical and hospital appointments.
• In-Home Support
• Assist to maintain clients’ independence.
• Emotional support
• Administering of Medication
• Assistance in recovery from Illness
Work Experience & Qualifications
Advantageous but not essential to start:
Completed training in:
• Cert 3 in Individual Support or equivalent (Required)
• At least 1 years relevant work experience in a similar role (Required)
• First Aid,
• Manual Handling Procedures,
• Observing and Recording Seizures
• Covid Infection Control
• NDIS Modules – Induction and Orientation.
