Position Overview:
We are currently looking for a Senior Surveyor with extensive experience in scanning and BIM management to oversee and manage survey activities at our mining site. This position will require travel between projects nationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct high-precision 3D laser scans of project sites to capture detailed as-built conditions.
- Integrate 3D scanning data into BIM models to create accurate and up-to-date representations of project sites.
- Utilise BIM software to create, edit, and manage 3D models based on scanning data
- Conduct thorough quality control checks to ensure the accuracy and reliability of scanning data and BIM models.
- Identify discrepancies and collaborate with project teams to resolve issues promptly.
- Generate comprehensive reports on scanning activities, BIM model updates, and project status.
- Maintain detailed documentation of scanning and BIM processes for future reference.
- Provide training and support to project teams on scanning and BIM best practices.
- Stay informed about advancements in scanning and BIM technologies and implement improvements as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in 3D laser scanning and BIM coordination preferably in mining projects
- Proficiency in using scanning equipment and BIM software (eg, Revit, Navisworks)
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment.
- Commitment to safety and environmental sustainability.
