Visual Approvals – Seeking Software Engineer / Developer

Position Description

Visual Approvals provides a single, powerful, easy-to use platform for Australian building surveyors. The platform allows the surveyor to manage the entire building certification process from initial assessment through to council approval with checks and balances at each stage to ensure full compliance. The software is developed in VB.net with additional products developed in other technologies such as Blazor & IOS.

As part of our continued growth, we are always looking to further develop the function, security and capabilities of our platform. To do this, we rely on a team of highly skilled Software Engineers / Developers and therefore we encourage anyone with demonstrated experience in the following key areas to contact us.

1. Proven working experience designing, coding and testing applications as a .NET software engineer in a commercial environment using VB.net, Microsoft.NET, C #, ASP.Net, .NET Maui, SQL Server and Entity Framework & associated technologies to meet project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions;
2. Designing and implementing APIs including REST, RPC and SOAP, Web Services, WCF & Blazor to facilitate data exchange between different systems and enable seamless integration;
3. Collaborating with the team to enhance and maintain the Visual Approvals platform, ensuring it meets user needs and adheres to best practices
4. Managing and configuring Azure cloud resources, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking components, to support application deployment and scalability;
5. Designing and optimizing databases, writing complex SQL queries, and ensuring data integrity and security;
6. Conducting unit tests and participating in code reviews to identify and fix issues, ensuring high code quality and reliability;
7. Investigating and resolving software defects, bugs, and performance issues to maintain a stable and robust application environment;
8. Implementing CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment processes, reducing development cycle time and enhancing software delivery;
9. Creating technical documentation, including API specifications, architecture diagrams, and user guides, to facilitate seamless knowledge transfer within the team;
10. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and QA engineers, to ensure successful project delivery and align with project objectives;
11. Staying up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve software development processes and enhance application performance.
12. Experience in, or working knowledge of the Building, Construction and Compliancy industry is highly desirable.

Selection Criteria

? Relevant tertiary qualification(s) in computer science
? Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role(s)
? Proven experience in project management and / or supervisory role would be an advantage

Remuneration

The remuneration package includes the base salary of $80,000.00 to $100,000.00 (based on a 38-hour week) plus 11% superannuation contribution.
