The Company is headquartered in Melbourne, Australia and has support offices in the UK, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Guatemala, and Bahamas.
The Finance team plays a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of the organisation – maintaining financial stability, transparency, and integrity of Eightcap’s operations.
Purpose
As part of our Finance team, you will contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department by assisting and supporting the department in the management of a range of responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Review client funds, trust accounts, and payment gateway balance reconciliation to ensure financial transparency.
- Ensure compliance with financial obligations for licenses held by Eightcap, including those set by ASIC and the FCA, maintaining financial integrity, and preparing financial statements as necessary.
- Provide financial and taxation advice on business structures, plans, and operations.
- Regularly review and maintain the accuracy of general ledger accounts, guaranteeing precise allocation of financial data and the highest level of financial statement accuracy.
- Assist with month-end accounting activities, including accruals and provisions and preparation of journal entries to reflect the company's financial position accurately, and preparation of taxation returns.
- Assist the Payroll Officer and act as a backup in processing payroll, reconciling associated payroll accounts such as salary and wages, superannuation, and annual leave monthly.
- Handle treasury duties, including cash management and risk assessment, to optimise Eightcap's financial position and ensure client money liabilities are sufficiently covered in the client trust account.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Junior Accountants to foster professional growth and ensure a collaborative and skilled finance team.
- Collaborate closely with the Finance Manager, offering support for ad-hoc tasks and contributing to a diverse range of accounting projects, including the annual audit, and ERP implementation, and budgetary processes.
Selection Criteria - Essential
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, and either CA or CPA qualified (or part qualified).
- Financial services experience and around 3 years accounting experience.
- Excellent organisation skills.
- Great attention to detail.
- Excellent understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Excel and familiarity with relevant computer software.
- Values and respects diversity.
- Ability to work with individuals from multicultural backgrounds.
- Ability to think analytically and troubleshoot day-to-day issues.
Selection Criteria - Desirable
- Experience with Xero and other similar software.
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritise multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.
