Our Cowal Gold Operation is an open-cut, underground and ore processing operation, located 40km Northeast of West Wyalong in NSW.
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Project Geologist, this Resource Definition role will be key in adding value to the Cowal Gold Operations Life of Mine plan through the discovery and definition of ounces within and around our existing operations. This will be achieved through the safe execution of drill programs, geologic mapping, and the management and interpretation of associated data.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Collecting geological data from drill core, chips, underground exposure, and other applicable sources.
Ensuring that drill programs are executed in a safe, sustainable manner.
Identifying drill targets to assist in planning near mine exploration and resource definition drill holes.
Communicating geological observations and interpretations to the Senior Geologist and other key stakeholders.
Assisting in maintaining robust 3D geologic models.
Overseeing sample selection and QAQC practices for all Resource Definition drill activities.
Maintaining the integrity of the drill database through regular validation of all drilling and sampling data collected.
Maintaining health, safety, statutory, regulatory, and licensing standards, and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution.

To be considered for this role it is desirable that you have the following:
Tertiary qualification in geology or geosciences.
Australian Drivers Licence (manual preferred).
Prior experience working in an operating mine or active resource-stage exploration site.
Demonstrable experience in drill program planning and management (surface and underground diamond preferred).
Strong observational geology skillset – able to quickly and accurately log lithological, structural, alteration and mineralisation information from drill core or chips.
Ability to manage collection, validation, and QAQC processes for drilling and geological data.
Proficient in the use of logging and 3D modelling software packages – Leapfrog, DataShed, Logchief.
