Cooks Body Works are looking to hire full time welders (First Class), paid an annualized salary of $70,000. Cook’s Body Works is an all Australian owned and operated vehicle body building business. The company’s emphasis is on high quality design and functionality and providing a product that enhances its customer’s business through practical efficiency.
We are looking to hire a full time experienced welders (First Class) to join our team. You will be required and responsible to fabricates and repair metal products using various welding techniques.
Day shifts run from 6:50am to 3:20pm Monday to Thursday 6:50am to 1:00pm Friday.
Main duties are as follows but not limited to
• Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
• Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
• Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches.
• Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
• Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
• Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
• Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
• Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
Skill requirements for the position
You must hold at least an AQF Certificate III or equivalent with at least two years of on-the-job training post qualification or at least three years of closely relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above
