Overview:
Emerging from a love of beautiful home interiors and a need to share this passion, our story began when the first Shack Homewares store opened its doors on Sydney’s North Shore nearly 30 years ago. Since then, Shack has grown, earning an enviable reputation for a dedication to customers, and to its furniture and homewares.
We are looking for a Supply and Distribution Manager to join the team! In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising the end-to-end supply chain operations of a company. This is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week, based in Sydney, NSW.
Main tasks
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to meet company objectives, its policies, and safety protocols.
- Forecast demand for products or materials to ensure stock supplies are recorded and ordered and delivery schedule is maintained.
- Monitor and review inventory systems to maintain optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing carrying costs.
- Plan and optimize the distribution network, negotiating contracts, for timely and most cost-effective product delivery.
- Monitor and analyse supply chain costs, identifying areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
- Input and monitor logistical software.
- Research ideal shipping techniques, routing, and carriers.
- Work with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations.
- Evaluate metrics to assess performance and implement enhancements.
Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:
- Relevant bachelor’s degree plus minimum 2 years’ work experience; OR 5 years’ work experience in case of no formal qualification.
Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:
- Proven experience in supply chain and distribution management.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes, procurement, and logistics.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
