About the Role....

The objective of this role is to provide financial services support to business managers for a range of businesses operating in Arnhem Land. This role will enable you to utilise your financial skills to ensure the effective and efficient operation of businesses in community to ensure the best result for ALPA’s stakeholders.

You will work closely with department managers to ensure that all financial deadlines are met; including monthly and quarterly reporting to senior management.

The successful candidate will be supported and mentored by a Senior Accountant who will help with your professional development and career growth.

Experience in retail accounting would be preferable but not essential.


Your responsibilities will be:

• Internal/external reporting
• Yearly budgeting and forecasting
• Liaising with auditors
• Leading and managing a finance officer and/ or an assistant accountant
• Grant reconciliations
• Balance sheet note reconciliations
• Create innovative ideas to improve process efficiencies.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• CA/CPA qualified accountant is highly desirable
• Strong working knowledge of accounting standards, best practice and demonstrated ability to meet tight time frames
• Power BI knowledge, advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
• Highly organised, efficient with great attention to detail
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal and relationship management skills
• Proven people management and leadership skills and experience - committed to developing team members
• Proven record of success working in a fast-changing environment. while improving processes

• $78,000-$88,000 base salary
