DREAMSTONEHR PTY LTD company logo
InnovationAus is an independent publication that reports on government policy as it affects technology-based innovation across the nation’s growth industries. From mining and agriculture to financial services, MedTech, cybersecurity and advanced manufacturing, our reporting focuses on the opportunities that align with Australia’s strategic priorities and connects government, institutional researchers, investors, entrepreneurs and the mainstream business community.

Our goal is to galvanise new thinking and encourage new action in building on Australia’s economy in transition – and we do this through our publication, targeted industry forums, high-level roundtables and bespoke content and events.

InnovationAus is a part of Hello Espresso, an independent and diversified communications company.

The role:

The Events Producer will play a key role in the day-to-day execution of the commercial side of the business, working with the Senior Producer and the broader InnovationAus team to execute a variety of online and in-person events – including podcasts, live-streamed in-studio panels, webinars, roundtables, video podcasts, webcast interviews – and come up with creative new formats to deliver content for clients.

The Events Producer will have accountability for production projects from start to finish and will own and drive all areas including overarching strategy (and engaging the right people for the right thinking / subject matter expertise), project planning, talent and delegate acquisition, scheduling, briefing, supplier liaison, venue confirmation, engagement of specialists like copywriters, graphic designers, digital team etc.

InnovationAus.com is a high-performing team that values proactivity, curiosity, and the confidence to grapple with tricky subject matter – and we expect the Producer to hold these same values.

The Events Producer will be a creative and lateral thinker who can overcome obstacles with a genuine passion for getting it right, every time. You will also have a sound understanding of the client service environment and how to operate within it.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the production of digital media including videos, podcasts and webinars.
• Coordinate the production of in person events including roundtables, forums, panels and conferences
• Take briefs from clients and foster long-lasting relationships with them
• Suggest topics, speakers, themes of interest to our readers and guests to build products around (webinars, whitepapers, roundtables, forums, podcast eps)
• Draft film and multimedia briefs
• Create concepts and designs for new digital projects and ensure design standards are being upheld.
• Ensure all clients are updated on the delivery of digital campaigns
• Coordinate workflow and documentation
• Manage upwards to the Senior Producer, CEO, Managing Director and Editorial Director to ensure project deadlines are met
• Make sure things are running smoothly and contingencies are in place.
• Provide in-person tech support for online and offline events
• Prepare accurate status reports.
• Identify any issues and work with the Senior Producer to resolve them in a timely manner. Ensure all content is on brand and meets client’s requirements.

What do you need to join the team?

• A degree in Communications, International Relations, Marketing, Political Science, Social Inquiry or other relevant degree
• Curiosity and an interest in technology, government policy and current affairs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in multimedia tools (webinar platforms etc)
• Attention to detail and great organisational skills
• Readiness to join a fast paced, high-performance team
• Proactivity, self-motivation and a drive to learn and grow
• Commercial nous – while this is not a business development role, it does require someone with the skills to manage time and supplier resources.
