We are currently looking for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team based in Regency Park. You will be using your operations, logistics and management experience in running the day-to-day operations of our business while gaining new skills and techniques to help you achieve in the role.

GKR Transport was established in 1985 and currently we have depots in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia and Queensland. GKR specialises in the supply of transport, storage, and logistics services to a various range of industries. We have extensive experience in providing practical and affordable solutions to our clients in the automotive, industrial, heavy haulage, oil and gas, mining and manufacturing sectors. 

The GKR team support all employees with ongoing training to ensure that your service expectations are clearly recognised and properly fulfilled. We work in a highly competitive industry and pride ourselves on our staff and the consistent excellent service we provide to our customers, putting us among the industry leaders in the transport, storage, and logistics sector.


The Role

  • Controlling and managing a superior service delivery to our clients
  • Co-ordinate the inbound and outbound freight ensuring all collection and deliveries are done in a timely manner
  • Manage Branch operations, labour and vehicle resources in order to achieve delivery and service objectives both local and interstate
  • Manage and lead the operations personnel ensuring adherence to standard procedures
  • Plan, manage and review all fleet repairs and visual maintenance
  • Maintain a safe working environment for all personnel
  • Comply with company policy and legislative requirements relation to Work Health and Safety, storage and handling of dangerous goods, traffic laws and Federal and State Government Regulations.
  • Manage operational costs against budgets and targets as set by the State Manager.
  • Manage and maintain property, plant and site security.
  • Hands-on role with an opportunity to make a difference.

  • Proven leadership skills
  • Proven organisational/planning ability
  • The ability to liaise with sales, admin and operational personnel
  • Computer Literacy
  • Outstanding customer service focus
    TLIF3063 - Apply Fatigue Management Strategies (Scheduler) – Desired
    TLIF2010 - Apply Fatigue Management Strategies (Driver) – Desired
  • Previous experience in a logistics environment
  • Transport Industry experience
  • A proven track record of over achievement in planning and scheduling
  • Forklift Licence – desired
