Job Description
Responsible for providing a high standard of cleanliness, presentation and hygiene in assigned areas in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures. To provide service in an enthusiastic and friendly manner meeting productivity standards and guest satisfaction needs. Room Attendants may be allocated to work across various locations at Hamilton Island.
As a Room Attendant – Self Checker your role will primarily focus on the cleaning of guests' rooms.

Job Description
• Respond to guests and staff needs in a prompt and courteous manner ensuring guest satisfaction is met at all times
• Efficiently clean assigned number of rooms or areas in keeping with departmental standards
• Ensure all linen and towelling used for guests are clean with no stains, rip or tears. Follow the departmental procedure for identifying damaged linen/towelling and its removal from circulation
• Ensure lost property items are recorded and handed to the relevant Supervisor/Manager in a timely manner
• Ensure trolleys, housekeeping equipment, vehicles and/or service areas are stocked, replenished, clean and tidy at all times including disposing of rubbish appropriately
• Secure guest rooms, ensuring doors and windows are closed when room cleaning is complete
• Advise the relevant supervisor or manager of any stock shortages
• Ensure all common areas, including lobby areas, toilets and walkways are maintained, clean and free of debris at all times
• Report any damage, safety hazards or maintenance requirements to the appropriate Supervisor/Manager
• Ensure mini-bar sales are accurately communicated to the appropriate department enabling all sales to be captured prior to guest checkout (for identified properties)
• Restock mini-bar items ensuring products are fresh and par stock levels are met as per established standards (for identified properties)
• Responsible for inspection of rooms ensuring the standards of cleanliness and presentation are maintained and meet SOP’s
• Assist with mentoring new staff members in processes, standards and efficiencies as per departmental procedure
• Liaise with Front Office and Maintenance in regard to readiness of rooms with particular attention to guest’s special requirements and VIP rooms
• Team effectiveness – act as a positive influence and work as part of a team
• Work, Health & Safety (WHS) – follow all HIE WHS policies & procedures
• Undertake any other tasks as directed by your manager
Room Attendant Training Assistant
• Have a strong and thorough knowledge of all aspects of the department
• Conduct training sessions in a manner that adheres to the organisational guidelines at all times
• Assist the Department Manager in the ongoing training and development of staff, and in maintaining employee training records
• Work with the Learning and Development team, assist with the responsibility for the training and support of team members
• Assist with mentoring new staff members in processes, standards and efficiencies as per departmental procedure
• Liaise with Front Office and Maintenance in regard to readiness of rooms with particular attention to guest’s special requirements and VIP/Suite rooms
