We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Environmental Health Officer to contribute to our clients' Environmental Health Unit. Your new role
Develop and implement environmental health programs aligned with organisational responsibilities.
Conduct inspections and address complaints within the specified jurisdiction.
Administer relevant Acts and Regulations, including the Public Health Act 2005, Food Act 2006, and Environmental Protection Act 1994.
Support Local Law Enforcement activities related to animal control, waste management, and more.
Assist with mosquito control programs, from surveillance to treatment programs.
Assess applications for approvals and licences for prescribed and commercial activities.
Maintain accurate records, prepare reports for legal proceedings, and initiate public health education programs.
Provide excellent customer service, attend to enquiries, and collaborate with the team to achieve unit goals.
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor of Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent.
Current open car licence, including manual vehicles.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and proven ability to meet timelines.
Good written communication skills and a methodical approach to work.
Team-oriented with effective communication and negotiation skills.
Previous experience as an Environmental Health officer would be an advantage.
