Cleared are working with a global premier supplier of Defence Products & Systems are looking to speak to Senior Technical Officer who is based in Adelaide. As this role is within the Defence sector you will need to be an Australian Citizen and already with a AGSVA NV1 clearance. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Technical Officer will support the Assembly and Test team in the production of essential sub-systems. The ideal candidate should be highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of collaborating with diverse team members to achieve the desired outcomes outlined in the Position Description.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND BEHAVIORS :
Evaluate and procure appropriate hardware components.
Perform assembly of electronic and mechanical components in adherence to assembly drawings, specifications, and schematics.
Conduct equipment and subsystem testing based on defined Test Procedures using standard test tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and analyzers.
Collaborate with the Engineering team to design test jigs, evaluation kits, and facilitate product development experiments.
Create and maintain work instructions and process documentation related to assembly and production.
Conduct fault diagnosis and troubleshooting for sub-system component parts.
Maintain accurate records, including as-built configurations of equipment and test logs.
Prepare reports including red-lined schematics, fault diagnosis reports, and recording non-conformances and deviations.
Perform minor touch-up painting of parts and sub-systems.
Load and operate engineering software as part of the assembly and test process.
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES :
Collaborate with project teams on product design, development, and testing.
Aid in the manufacturing and testing of prototypes and products.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Certificate IV in Electronic and Communications (or related discipline).
At least 5 years of industry experience in an engineering environment, supporting medium-sized subsystems or groups of smaller subsystems and/or equipment within a quality framework.
Proficiency in precision soldering of components and familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, J-STD-001).
Familiarity with modern ERP tools for production planning, control, and monitoring.
Preferred experience in the defence environment.
Experience in assembling minor sub-components into larger line replaceable units (LRU).
Strong computer literacy including the use of maintenance management systems, Windows operating systems, and the Microsoft Office suite.
Knowledge of circuits and wiring fault finding in PC and industrial computing bus systems (cPCI, PMC, VME).
Proficiency in cable looming and connector types within LRUs - Copper, Fiber, Coax.
Solid understanding of electronic components, STTE, and workshop tools.
